Why do so?

Activating a job automatically transitions the machine to a setup state that considers tuning and adjustments you might need to make to the machine before production.

When setup is complete (or not needed at all), report the end of setup -- it's important to do so as close as possible to the actual end of setup to ensure the production timeline reflects the machine's activity.

If your production procedure requires running the machine during setup to check that production output is not flawed, when ending setup you'll fill in an electronic form that registers the count of the manufactured units correctly.

You can use the Time Left Current Job widget as described next, or use the Job Actions menu as described afterwards to report that setup is over.

Best practice: use the Time Left Current Job widget

The option for ending setup from the Time Left Current Job widget is available after the job is activated and transitions to Setup mode:

Setup mode in the Time Left Current Job widget
  1. Tap End Setup.

  2. In the Setup End dialog you'll be prompted to report the good units that were produced in the interim between activating the job to ending setup, which are currently tagged as rejects.*
(*This field's name depends on your site's policy regarding units produced during setup. If your site considers all production during setup to be good units unless specified otherwise, you'll be reporting rejects through this dynamic form -- and non-reported rejects will be considered to be good units.)

Example Setup End dialog box for a site that's policy is to consider all production to be rejects unless reported otherwise
    1. Choose Units to report the count of good units, or choose Weight to log the aggregated weight of the products that should be logged as Good Units (the weight unit is the standard set for your site).
Use the number keyboard at the bottom to enter the the numbers.
If applicable, select the technician that approved this report.
      Tap Approve.

    2. If there's nothing to report, tap Approve without filling in any of the fields in this dialog.

  3. The setup phase is now complete and the machine's status changes accordingly.

  4. After reporting that setup has ended, the Time Left Current Job widget will transition to its main mode of showing the time left for the current job.

Use the Job Actions menu

  1. Tap the Job Actions menu.

  2. Tap End Setup.

  3. In the Setup End dialog you'll be prompted to report the good units that were produced in the interim between activating the job to ending setup, which are currently tagged as rejects.*
(*This field's name depends on your site's policy regarding units produced during setup. Tap Approve.

    2. If there's nothing to report, tap Approve without filling in any of the fields in this dialog.

  4. The setup phase is now complete and the machine's status changes accordingly.

Note: Not all machines require manual setup, or setup at all. Some machines have automatic setup routines.
