Why do so?
Unplanned events on the production floor that aren't related to the job can create extended stops. Such a stop should not be bundled with the job. Reporting the change in production status separates the extended stop data from the job's trace and tags it correctly. This ensures data integrity.
It is therefore important to apply the correct production status immediately upon each change. If your site policy is also to apply a No Production status to machines at the end of the work day, you must not forget to change the production status at the start of the new work day.
How to do so
Tap the Production menu.
The menu options depend on your site's requirements, but will always include a Production status and at least one type of No Production status. Tap the production status applicable to the current machine. The machine's status changes accordingly.
After you apply a non-production status, a pop-up dialog will prompt you to activate a new job, or reactivate the job that was interrupted. Throughout the non-production status no jobs run. To resume production status, either tap the 'Production' status, or activate a job to transition to the 'Production' production status automatically.
Notes:
The production status will change automatically to 'No Production' when there are no active jobs for the machine to work on.
If a calendar event was configured to activate a production status after it ended, this too will automatically apply a production status.
Administration info
Can changing the production status be disabled for specific machines?
Yes. Clear the Allow Production Status Change on Operator App check box in the machine's setup General tab > Operator App section.
To disable changing production status for ALL machines, use the Settings > Tablet Screens Customization > Actions permissions > General Settings.
Where are production statuses set?
Production statuses are preconfigured per your site's requirements when setting up Matics. You can manage these statuses (add, edit and disable) in Matics Web as described in the following sections.
How do I add a production status?
Go to Settings > Production Status.
Click the + icon to add a line to the Production Status table.
Enter its local name and name in English in the respective cells.
Assign a stop reason to the non-production status. This will determine whether the duration of the applied production status is recorded as idle time or downtime.
Note: Even though the Production status is also assigned a stop reason, the system does not record production time as either idle time or downtime.(Optional) Assign a job definition.
Disable Working Time - if active, the working time of the machine in non-production status will be presented in timelines, such as the availability timeline. Working time in non-production machines is the time in which cycles were detected, even though the machine wasn't producing output.
Calculate Production Efficiencies - if active , the detected cycles in non-production status are included in rate efficiency calculations, even though there's no active job standard to compare with. If cleared, the cycle rate will be a fixed value of "1".
Overcoming Calendar Event - set the hierarchy of the event logging--if the production status stop reason overrides the scheduled calendar event's stop reason, or not.
Click Save Changes.
How do I modify an existing production status definition?
Go to Settings > Production Status.
Click to select the cell or check box you want to edit and make your changes.
Click Save Changes.
Troubleshooting
Error message: "Error for machine: [machine identifier/name] - Production status had been already changed in the last minutes"
The system has a built-in interval between changing production statuses. If you need to change the production status just after you've changed it (for example if you chose an incorrect production status), you'll need to wait a few minutes.
