Why do so?
Reporting production has two functions:
Enters the actual count of production as inventory.
When there's an attached printer, it prints the labels that will be affixed to the package.
Best practice: use the Report Production widget
If the widget was enabled for the machine, you'll see it in the machine dashboard:
Tap Report Production.
In the Report Production dialog that's displayed:
Select the package type.
Check or enter the number of reported units per that type:
If the package type has a default inventory quantity set for it, this value will automatically populate the units per package field.
If that value doesn't reflect the current package's units, or if there's no default value set for the package type, enter manually the number of units you're packaging in that package type.
If you're logging inventory/printing labels for more than one package, tap Batch Settings.
In the Quantity of [package type] field enter how many of these packages you're reporting.
If you're printing labels: In the Number of copies field enter how many labels for each package should be printed. If you're not printing labels leave the default value of 1.
Tap Generate Report. A brief confirmation that the action was applied successfully will be presented.
Note: Printing out labels is available for machines that have a printer defined in their settings.
Report production from the Actions menu
You can also report production from the Actions menu.
Tap the Job Actions menu.
Tap Report Production. and the following steps are identical to reporting production using the widget.
Follow steps 2 onward in the reporting production procedure above.
Administration info
Can I limit the number of batches that can be reported in a single report?
Yes, in the Web app, go to Inventory > Package Types and enter the maximum value in the package type's Batches Amount Limit field.
Can I limit the number of printed labels in each generated report?
Yes, go to Inventory > Package Types and enter the maximum value in the package type's Copies Amount Limit field.
Where do I change the printer that will print labels?
It is best to contact support to change this for you. In general it's done in the machine's Printer Path field. (Setup > [machine type] > [target machine] > General tab > Inventory section)
How do I change the default inventory units value for a package type?
The default units value per package type depends on what was filled out in the product's General tab Packaging section for the applicable fields (Box Units, Pallet Units, or a custom field). Changing the value there will change the default units per the package type.
When the reported production and the machine's auto-logged count of produced units don't match, how are the unaccounted for units addressed?
It depends on how the machine was configured. If the Report Non Reported Rejects check box is enabled (Setup > [machine type] > [target machine] > General tab > Inventory section), the gap between the machine's count to the reported production will be tagged as non-reported rejects.
I want the units per package type field in the Op app to populate automatically with the value set for the product in order to reduce input mistakes, where do I configure this?
Contact support to change this for you.
