How to indicate that parameters in the machine's tile or cube are in alarm state (parameter deviation color indicator)

Motivation for setting up such an indication

What triggered an alarm is the first question people on the production floor will want to know. To expedite the answer you can configure parameters included in Online dashboards' machine tiles and cubes to fill with a certain color when they're in alarm state. Since Online dashboards are in frequent use as the prominent display, this can be an effective visual aid.

For example:

Configuring the parameter

NOTE: Only machine parameters that are configured as alerts (that is, alarms) can be used for this purpose.

  1. Go to Setup > Site Configuration > 5 (Step 5 - Define Machine Types).

  2. Click the index of the target machine type and then click its Machines tab.

  3. Click the index of the target machine and then click its Parameters tab.

  4. Choose the target parameter from the machine's parameters.
Make sure its Alert value is True, and the same for Display On Production Floor.
    For example:

Required columns for this setting to work in the machine's Parameters tab
  5. Click the index of that parameter to open that parameter's ControllerField form.

  6. In the General tab verify that the parameter's limits (Lower Value and Upper Value) have been configured.

  7. Click the Alarms tab.

  8. In the Alarms tab click the color picker to choose the color that will fill this parameter's cell when the production value deviates from the set limits.
