Should all alarms change the machine's status?

It's a policy decision which parameter deviations justify changing the machine's status to alarm state.

Configuring parameters that will change the machine's status

NOTE

Only machine parameters that are configured as alerts (that is, alarms) can be used for this purpose.

  1. Go to Setup > Site Configuration > 5 (Step 5 - Define Machine Types).

  2. Click the index of the target machine type and then click its Machines tab.

  3. Click the index of the target machine and then click its Parameters tab.

  4. Choose the target parameter from the machine's parameters.
Make sure its Alert value is True, and the same for Display On Production Floor.
    For example:

  5. Click the index of that parameter to open that parameter's ControllerField form.

  6. In the General tab verify that the parameter's limits (Lower Value and Upper Value) have been configured.

  7. Click the Alarms tab.

  8. In the Alarms tab select Color machine status on alarm. When the production value deviates from the set limits for this parameter, the machine status color is the alarm state color (dark yellow).
If this parameter should not impact the machine's status indicator, clear the Color machine status on alarm check box.

    • Select the Alarms During Setup check box if deviations in this parameter should trigger an alarm during setup.

    • Select the Alarms During Stop check box if deviations in this parameter should trigger an alarm when the machine is in stop state. (The machine's color indicator in this case will be the red stop status.)

  9. Click Save.
