An important aspect for configuring the options related to Operators are making the connection between these operators, the machine/work station they are working at, and the job they are working on.
When this connection is established, the system analyzes the operator's production efficiency by using the standards set in the job, the machine's actual output, and the time duration the operator was signed in as an operator of that machine.

Production efficiency data includes sign-in tardiness, machine stops, production rate, output quality (good units and rejects).

Where is this configured?

  1. Go to Setup > Site Configuration and click index #5 ('Step 5 - Define Machine Types').

  2. In the Step5 page > Machine Types tab, click the index number of the machine type for which you want to configure these settings.

  3. In that machine type's page > Machines tab, click the index number of the machine for which you want to configure these settings.

  4. In that machine's page > General tab, scroll down to the Operator App section.
There you will find the settings used for identifying the current operator and for enabling operators to adjust job standards.
These settings are described in the following section.

What can be configured?

Parameter

Description

Automatically Split Job On Worker Change

A new JoSh is automatically created when an operator signs in to work on the machine. The JoSh units target value is populated with the number of units still left to produce per the parent job's units target (after deducting the units produced in previous JoShs).

Automatically Split Job On Worker Add

A new JoSh is automatically created when saving changes made to a team. These changes can be either adding a member, or removing a member.
The JoSh units target value is populated with the number of units still left to produce per the parent job's units target (after deducting the units produced in previous JoShs).

Disconnect Worker On Shift Change

Connected operators are automatically disconnected when the next shift starts.

Pop-Up Worker Sign-In Screen on Shift Change (Tablet)

A pop-up window prompting operators to sign in is presented on the Operator app (tablets only) when the next shift starts. This setting complements the setting for disconnecting operators upon shift change.

Require Worker Sign In

Enforces Operator Sign In (using an operator ID) in order to work with the app. The application is locked until the operator signs in.
