Why do so?

Signing in with a worker ID establishes the connection between the operator to the machine/workstation and the job the operator is working on.
This is important for system analytics. Operator production efficiency calculations use the standards set in the job, the machine's actual output, and the time duration the operator was signed in as an operator of that machine. Production efficiency data include sign-in tardiness, machine stops, production rate, output quality (good units and rejects).

Whether operators log in or not when starting work at a work station is usually based on your site's policy.

If this was configured by your system administrator, operators may be required to sign in order to use the Operator app.

Note: If more than one operator works on a machine during the shift (a team), the analytics apply to all signed-in operators.

Signing in to a single machine

  1. In the machine's dashboard, tap Operator Sign In (top-right corner).
If there's a name of an operator in the top right corner, refer to the Sign Out and Edit Operators sections below.
Note: If the machine has been configured to enforce sign-in, you'll be presented with the Sign In dialog before you start working on the machine and will not need to tap the Operator Sign In control.

  2. In the Operator Sign In dialog enter your operator ID.

  3. Tap ADD TO TEAM, this is required even if you're a single operator.

  4. (Optional) Enter the operator ID of another operator that will be working on the machine and tap ADD TO TEAM. Repeat this step for all operators that will work on this machine during the shift.

  5. Tap Save & Close. The signed in operator's name will now be presented near the operator icon in the top-right corner.
If multiple operators were signed in, the name of the first one signed is the one presented. (You can change this easily by using the Edit Operators option.)

Signing in to multiple machines

When you're working on multiple machines during a shift, you can sign in to all those machines through a single action.

  1. In the Shift Manager dashboard, tap Operator Sign In.

  2. In the Operator Log In prompt's Operator ID field, enter your operator ID (also known as worker ID).

  3. Tap to select the machines you want to sign in to. (Tap again to clear your selection if needed.)

  4. Tap Apply.

  5. In the confirmation prompt, tap Yes.

Note: If there are already signed in operators to some of those machines, the last signed-in operator is added as an operator to the machine and will be the name that's presented as the signed in operator.

Signing out

  1. Tap the signed-in operator name in the top-right corner.

  2. In the drop-down menu, tap Sign Out.

Edit operators

  1. Tap the signed-in operator name in the top-right corner.

  2. In the drop-down menu, tap Edit Operators.

Change the primary operator

Choosing Edit Operators presents a list with all the names of the machine's signed in operators. The name of the primary operator is positioned at the top of the list and has a blue colored background.

To change the name that's displayed on the machine dashboard as the primary signed-in operator, drag the name of the operator that should replace the current primary operator to the top of the list and tap Save & Close.

Add operators to the team operating the machine

To add yourself/another member to the team operating this machine, after choosing Edit Operators, enter the operator's ID as described in steps 2 onward in Signing in to a single machine.

Remove operators from the machine team

To remove a member from the machine team, after choosing Edit Operators, tap the X control in the member's name.
