Why add files?

Adding files that provide additional information about the mold, material, job, QC test and maintenance record is a frequent action for efficient production-floor operations.

These files can be updated with new versions which you can easily track.

How to add files

  1. Go to Production > Files.

  2. Click the add control.

  3. In the pop-up dialog:

    1. Enter basic identifying information for the file, its:

      • English name

      • Name (English or other language)

      • Description

    2. Click Add.

  4. The record for this file will open to the General tab.
Go to the File Upload tab.

  5. Either click to browse and select the file to upload, or drag it to the upload box.
A preview of the file will be shown.

  6. Click Upload file. An upload success confirmation will be presented briefly.
In the General tab you will now have a link to that file.

  7. Go to the File Relation tab.

  8. Click Add.

  9. In the row that's added:

    1. Select the type of linked object that this file will be linked to.
      For example, Maintenance (maintenance ticket).

    2. Enter the object ID of that object, which is that object's Index number.
(This means you need to first open the list of objects of that type to locate the object and its index number.)

    3. Click Save changes.
A success confirmation will be presented briefly.

    4. Go to the list of objects of that type to locate the object (mold, job, QC test, material or maintenance record) and click its index number.

  10. Click its Files tab and you'll see that file record there, and so will anybody viewing this object.

Updating the file's version

  1. Click the index of the object you linked the file to.
For example, if it was a mold maintenance ticket, open that ticket.

  2. Click the Files tab.

  3. Click the index of the file record you want to update.
In the General tab you'll see that file's version number.
    For example:

  4. (Optional check) If this isn't the first version, clicking the Previous Versions tab will list that file's previous versions, with URLs for opening those versions' files.

  5. Click the File Upload tab and follow steps 5 to 10 in the procedure above.
